JB Fitness is expanding its footprint with plans to open a second location in a former Walgreens building at the northeast corner of Herndon and West avenues.
Owner Jason Beard confirmed the expansion to The Business Journal last week. The gym will occupy nearly 16,000 square feet and include more than 60 parking spaces.
The second location will offer a broader range of amenities than the company’s Clovis gym at 662 N. Pollasky Ave. The new gym will include a dedicated pilates room, red light therapy, tanning, hydro massage, a cold plunge, large sauna, locker rooms with restrooms and showers, a posing room, lounge area and supplement shop.
The gym also plans to provide full-time security in its parking lot.
One of the location’s standout features will be a drive-thru offering smoothies, protein shakes and acai and poke bowls. Members will also have access to an indoor café and bar area.
JB Fitness said it plans to outfit the facility equipment from manufacturers including Prime, Newtech and Cybex. The company described the expansion as a step toward creating a unique fitness experience.
“JB Fitness is going to a whole different level — unlike anything else in the local gym scene,” a post to the gym’s Instagram reads. “This is only the beginning.”
An opening date for the new location has not yet been announced.
