WEST POINT, Utah (KUTV) — A second suspect was arrested in connection with the homicide of 71-year-old James Witten.
Abner Aroldo Avila, 21, was arrested in California and is being held pending extradition to Utah.
Axel Eduardo Chavez Marroquin, 23, was arrested on June 16 in Las Vegas.
Witten was taking out the trash at his home near 2000 West and 200 North just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, when he was shot and killed. Davis County deputies found his body on the porch.
The suspects then fled the scene and remained unidentified for several weeks.
Little information has been released, but Avila and Marroquin are both facing charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
