For nearly five decades, Stumpf and Company, Real Estate has built its reputation on local expertise, personal relationships and commitment to serving the Central Valley.
The company’s selection as a 2026 honoree for The Business Journal’s Family Owned Business Awards reflects its nearly 50 years of family leadership and community involvement.
Founded in 1977 by Ron Stumpf after he was laid off from a construction job, the Fresno-based commercial real estate brokerage has grown from a one-person operation into a second-generation family business.
Today, Ron Stumpf works alongside his daughters, Alex and Veronica Stumpf, providing brokerage, consulting and valuation services across office, retail, industrial, multifamily, mixed-use and land properties.
Their roots in the Central Valley go even further than 1977, with family history tracing back to 1898.
Throughout its history, the company has focused on hands-on service and long-term relationships over rapid expansion, helping clients ranging from nonprofits to large institutions navigate the commercial real estate market.
Outside of business, the family is active in the community. Ron Stumpf has spent decades teaching public real estate investment courses and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Fresno for more than 40 years. Veronica Stumpf leads educational workshops for small businesses and serves on several Downtown Fresno organizations, while Alex Stumpf advocates for children with autism and organizations supporting their families.
“This recognition means a lot to us,” the family said in a statement to The Business Journal. “Our family has called the Central Valley home since 1898 and Ron Stumpf started Stumpf & Co., Real Estate in 1977. As we near 50 years in business we bring two generations of well-rounded knowledge and expertise along with the high-quality hands-on service a small business is built to provide. To be recognized for that hard work by our community is an honor.”
