The crash happened at Maple and Gettysburg avenues around 11:45 a.m., Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said.
A black sedan was rear-ended by a white truck. The driver who was rear-ended was pronounced dead at the scene, Trueba Vega said. A dog in the vehicle was also found dead.
