Shares in Staar Surgical Co. fell 8.4% in after-hours trading today following the company’s preliminary second quarter sales.
The Lake Forest-based eye lens maker expects revenue to be in excess of $90 million, up 123% from the year prior.
In the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, however, net sales declined by low single-digit percentage due to ongoing turmoil in the Middle East, according to the company.
Following earnings, Staar decreased 8.4% to $26.52 after market close. They had ended regular trading at $28.98 per share and a $1.4 billion market cap (Nasdaq: STAA).
