Crews with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power responded Saturday to a water main break in the Hollywood area that disrupted water service to dozens of customers.
The break was reported near 6001 Santa Monica Blvd.
According to LADWP, crews responding to the scene found that an 8-inch cast iron water main had ruptured. Workers remained on site Saturday working to shut off the water so repairs could begin.
LADWP said about 70 water service connections were affected by the break.
Officials have not determined what caused the water main to fail, and there was no estimated timeline for restoring water service.
LADWP said repair crews remained on scene to isolate the damaged main and restore service as quickly as possible.
