The 19-year-old left-hander struck out six over five shutout innings, setting the tone in low Single-A Lake Elsinore’s 12-0 win at Ontario on Friday.
Schoolcraft (2-5, 6.03 ERA) scattered three hits and three walks.
First baseman Dawson Willis (.872 OPS) tripled twice, walked and drove in a run.
Second baseman Jose Verdugo (.718 OPS) drove in two runs on three hits.
Catcher Yoiber Ocopio (.747 OPS) doubled and drove in two runs.
Lake Elsinore is 46-42.

Missions 4, Corpus Christi 3: CF Kai Roberts (.628 OPS) drove in two runs on his fourth homer. 2B Carson Tucker (.730 OPS) drove in two runs on two hits. Both DH Tirso Ornelas (.831 OPS) and SS Francisco Acuna (.669 OPS) had a double. LHP Jagger Haynes (4.28 ERA) struck out eight and allowed an unearned run on three hits and a walk in six innings. Padres 8, Royals 2 (7): RHP Jeremiah Estrada (knee inflammation) began a rehab assignment by earning a win with a scoreless second inning. Estrada hasn’t pitched since June 2. LHP Luis Gutierrez (shoulder) struck out the side in the start to begin a rehab assignment ahead of returning to San Antonio. 3B Santiago Vargas (.717 OPS) drove in three runs on his fourth homer. DH Isaac Ponce (.722 OPS) hit his third homer.
ROOKIE DSL BROWN (7-26)
Astros 24, Padres 9: CF Jhostin Fuentes (.605 OPS) drove in two runs on two hits, as did RF Rafael Moran (.623 OPS). C Pedro Silva (.717 OPS) and 3B Yonaiker Hernandez (.698 OPS) each had two hits and a double.

Padres 6, Dodgers 4: SS Joniel Hernandez (.959 OPS) drove in three runs on two hits, including his third homer. 3B Timothy Mogen (.733 OPS) drove in two runs on two hits, including a double. 2B Endy Rios (.813 OPS) went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored.
