Firefighters and hazardous materials crews responded to reports of mercury at multiple locations in Riverside County on Saturday.
The incident was reported around 11:24 a.m. near the 24000 block of Magnolia Street in Wildomar, according to Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department.
The Riverside County Hazardous Materials Team and county environmental health officials were assisting firefighters with the response.

Crews were assessing each reported location to determine whether the incident was isolated, officials said.
The substance involved was identified as mercury, a toxic metal that can pose health risks when people are exposed to its vapors or come into direct contact with it.
Officials said there was no ongoing threat to the surrounding community and no evacuations had been ordered.
