After watching “Do the Right Thing” as kids in Bernal Heights, Nathaniel Talbot and Jamari Hilliard-Vasquez did what anyone would: They ordered a pizza from the now-closed Valencia Street staple Arinell.
Now, they’re turning that childhood memory into a business.
For 18 months, the friends have been operating Fatty Natty, a New York-style pizza pop-up known for thin crusts and unexpected toppings. They’ll put down roots with a brick-and-mortar set to open in 2027 at 420 Cortland Ave. in Bernal Heights.
“Me and Jamari grew up right over the hill,” Talbot says. “This has been our dream. Nothing fancy, just a place anybody can come hang out.”
