Boyle Heights—A 27-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds early this morning during a street takeover in Boyle Heights.
The shooting occurred at about 2:20 a.m. at Whittier Boulevard and Lorena Street, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
A 30-year-old man reportedly tried to take property from the victim before the shooting, the spokesman said.

The suspect fled in a vehicle before police arrived, he said.
The condition of the victim was not immediately available.
