AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – An 18-year-old woman is accused of destroying evidence against Kevin Hunt.
In a recently unsealed indictment, Kristina Maria Partida is charged with two counts.
The first count is hindering prosecution of terrorism, described in the indictment as “tampering with electronic messages which might aid in the discovery of or apprehension of Kevin Hunt.”
The second count is tampering with physical evidence, described in the document as “destroying electronic records” in order to hinder the investigation.
The date for both counts is July 16, 2025.
Kevin Hunt was arrested last year after the Texas Department of Public Service thwarted a plan to attack the Fourth of July parade in Canyon, Texas.
Investigators found materials used to make explosives, including hydrogen peroxide and much more.
He has pled guilty to federal charges related to the attack.
Chat messages obtained by the DPS Criminal Investigations Division showed that Hunt spoke of his plan and intent to carry it out with other people on Discord, a gaming platform with a chat feature.
It is unknown at this time if Partida is one of the other people referenced in the Discord chats.
She is a resident of Gardena, California and was arrested on Friday morning.
Her bond is set at $1.5 million.
It is expected that Randall County Sheriff’s Office will initiate the extradition process soon.
We have reached out to the California facility where Partida is being held to request a booking photo.
