J. Love has exited his post as Operations Manager for a pair of Connoisseur Media’s San Jose, CA, radio stations a year after taking the job.
Love announced the move in a Facebook post over the weekend, thanking colleagues and Bay Area listeners but not detailing his reasons for leaving or his next career step. “My time with Mix 106.5 and Bay Country has come to an end,” Love said in the post.
Love joined the two stations —”Bay Country 94.5/921″ KBAY/KKDV Gilroy/Walnut Creek, CA, and hot AC “Mix 106.5” KEZR San Jose, CA — as Operations Manager in July 2025, when Alpha Media owned them. Connoisseur Media completed its acquisition of Alpha’s properties last September, making Love a Connoisseur employee.
His departure comes as KBAY prepares to move its Bay Country programming to 98.5 FM, currently home to “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX, effective Wednesday. The long running classic rocker will continue on a pair of HD side channels: KUFX 98.5-HD2 in San Jose and KMVQ 99.7 HD3 in San Francisco, along with the KFOX mobile app and website.
The frequency moves are part of Connoisseur’s previously announced $2 million sale of the 94.5 signal to K-Love, Inc. That deal, which does not include the KBAY call letters or country format, remains subject to FCC approval and is expected to close in early fall.
No replacement for Love has been named.
