Eastbound Highway 58 set for overnight closures, Wible Road impacted on July 23

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Drivers traveling through Highway 58 at Highway 99 should plan for overnight detours as Caltrans crews install new overhead sign infrastructure, said the City of Bakersfield.

Eastbound Highway 58 at Highway 99 is set for full nighttime closures starting tonight through Tuesday, July 21, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day, Caltrans said.

During the closure, drivers on eastbound Highway 58 will be detoured to southbound Highway 99, then to eastbound White Lane, back to northbound Highway 99, and finally onto eastbound Highway 58.

In a separate closure, Wible Road will be fully closed between Brundage Lane and Belle Terrace on Thursday, July 23, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., while crews install drainage infrastructure. Drivers will be detoured to use Real Road.

The city said construction work may be postponed and rescheduled without notice due to inclement weather and other unforeseen conditions.
