On April 17, Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin endured a truly horrifying experience in the dead of the night. An unidentified intruder entered the couple’s property in the Hollywood Hills to allegedly commit burglary, per TMZ. According to the outlet, Sprouse confronted the intruder and held him down until the cops showed up. TMZ further reported that the actor even held the suspect at gunpoint before “tackling him.”
However, during a recent episode of Wildmen with Dylan Sprouse and Brendan Columbus, the actor is setting the record straight and has clarified that he never tackled the suspect. The 33-year-old stated that he “just wants people to think that he did because that’s cool but he never tackled the guy,” per People.
Dylan Sprouse had suspected the intruder wanted to steal his Pokémon cards
On the night of the incident, Sprouse recalled that he initially thought it was his father, who usually came over whenever he wanted. However, the actor soon discarded the possibility. His father was usually asleep by 8:00 p.m., and he heard a “rattle” on the front door around 12:30 a.m. The couple’s front door had been opened after a friend came over.
Sprouse recalled that he was playing video games on the couch when he heard the alleged intruder. He initially suspected that the suspect was there to steal Pokémon cards, because Palvin and he had just had a “great pull night.” The 33-year-old went upstairs to inform his wife about the incident, who noted that she would alert the authorities.
After reviewing security footage, Sprouse fetched his gun, a Kimber 1911. Armed, the actor walked out of the house and called out to the suspect to reveal his identity. The unidentified man first replied, saying “it’s me,” and then “nobody” when Sprouse asked who was out there. When the actor finally came face-to-face with the intruder, he noticed the intruder was holding a cigarette in one hand and a longboard in the other.

On the podcast, the 33-year-old stated that he felt at ease when a neighbor arrived at the scene following the “commotion.” Sprouse had escorted the man outside the property with a gun in his hand, and when he asked the suspect what he had been thinking to break into the couple’s property in such a manner, the man allegedly replied that he did not even know where he was.
Sprouse noted that he and Palvin did not press charges against the suspect, but authorities took him into custody anyway due to outstanding warrants. The couple dealt with the whole episode by watching Pixar films and eating ice cream, per the outlet.
