Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month? We didn’t either.
But the United Dairy Industry of Michigan trade group does and they are celebrating with free ice cream at Cook’s Dairy Farm in Ortonville.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, people can stop by for a free scoop of Cook’s hand-dipped ice cream served in a cake cone or bowl. While supplies last. So tell your family and friends … you scream, I scream we all scream for free ice cream!
According to dairy group, the fourth-generation family farm, 2950 E. Seymour Lake Road in Ortonville, has been producing Grade A products since 1933. They milk their own cows, process and bottle their milk and churn their own ice cream on the property. Visit the farm’s Facebook page.
But the event is more than just satisfying your sweet tooth during an especially sweet month. The trade group is celebrating the Cook family’s farming success — and that of many others around the state — by building trust with dairy consumers through outreach and education.
