CLOVIS, Calif. (FOX26) — A woman posted a plea on social media after her 90-year-old father lost a very special handmade wooden cane.

She said he was shopping at Costco in Clovis and left it in his shopping cart.

When he realized it later, he went back to Costco, and it was gone.

He has checked to see if it was turned in, and they have checked several times since, but nobody has turned it in.

My Dad is 90 years old, a veteran, retired police Lt, he served the community and this beautiful cane was made by another fellow retired officer. If anyone has seen this, please let me know it us not valuable, it is sentimental. Thank you

Jim Pryce is an Air Force veteran and retired Fresno Police Officer. He retired from FPD after 35 years as a Lt in 1996.

He continues to serve the community by being a docent at the Veterans Memorial Museum in downtown Fresno.

He hangs out with a few other retirees, and one of them is a woodworker who told Jim he needed a better cane than that ugly metal one he was using.

The veteran made one out of walnut, and his son, also a police officer, affixed his dad’s 35-year Fresno Police Department badge, motor officer pin, and his Honor Flight pin.

So the cane has real sentimental value.

If you found the cane, please turn it into the Clovis Police Department, and they will get it back to Jim.
