The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday asked for the public’s help in identifying the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that killed a teenager near Hawthorne over the weekend.
According to the sheriff’s department, deputies responded at about 10:17 p.m. to the 4200 block of Rosecrans Avenue following reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
When deputies arrived, they found the 15-year-old boy lying in the street with injuries sustained in the crash. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
