Hutchins Road, between Farnsworth and Union Lake roads in White Lake Township, will be closed on Thursday, July 23, to replace a failed culvert, the Oakland County road commission said.

That section of Hutchins Road carries approximately 1,720 vehicles per day.  The road commission is doing the work and expects Hutchins Road to reopen Thursday after the culvert is replaced. The work is being done in advance of a resurfacing project on Hutchins Road from Farnsworth Road to Union Lake Road this year. No date has been set for that project.

The detour for through traffic is Union Lake Road to Farnsworth Road, back to Hutchins Road and vice versa. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained east and west of the culvert work, located on Hutchins Road, just east of Round Lake Road.
