Eligible Monterey Park residents have until July 31 to apply for the city’s Air Purifier Reimbursement Program, leaving about two weeks for qualified households to submit applications.

The program provides partial reimbursement to income-qualified residents who purchased eligible air purifiers in response to air quality concerns following the recent fire that blanketed the region in smoke. City officials said the initiative is intended to help offset unexpected costs incurred by families seeking to improve indoor air quality during the emergency.
“Protecting the health and well-being of our residents remains a top priority,” Mayor Elizabeth Yang said when the program was announced. “We recognize that many families incurred unexpected expenses to safeguard indoor air quality during the recent fire. This program is intended to help offset those costs for households most impacted by the incident.”
The reimbursement program is available to Monterey Park residents who meet the city’s income requirements and purchased an eligible air purifier during the designated reimbursement period. Funding is limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while funds remain available.
Eligible applicants may receive up to $75 for air purifiers purchased between June 17 and June 28, 2026. Applications have been accepted since June 29 and must be submitted by July 31, 2026.
Applicants must provide proof of Monterey Park residency, documentation of income eligibility and the original purchase receipt.
The city’s household income limits are:
1–2 people: Up to $43,280
3 people: Up to $54,640
4 people: Up to $66,000
5 people: Up to $77,360
6 people: Up to $88,720
Each additional person: Add $11,360
Residents are encouraged to review all eligibility requirements before applying.
