Kern County Employers Training Resource offers services to help businesses grow

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Employers Training Resource offers services that can help local businesses grow their workforce.

Employers can take advantage of applicant screenings and referrals, customized recruitments, promotion of job openings, and financial hiring incentives like on the job training.

Businesses can also utilize the facility spaces available through Kern County ETR for meetings, workshops, staff training or recruitments.

Businesses interested in these services can register online through CalOBS.ca.gov or call (661) 336-6650.

Kern County Employers Training Resource is also highlighting local companies that are currently hiring.

Tailored Brands is holding a hiring event today, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their distribution center on District Boulevard.

The company is hiring seasonal employees starting at $16.90 an hour.

Those interested can apply at careers.tailoredbrands.com.

Caltrans is also accepting applications for their Heavy Highway Construction Trades Academy in Mojave.

The 7-week course provides training, skills and certifications for those interested in starting a career in heavy highway construction.

Applications are open through July 31 and can be submitted at bakerti.org/heotraining.
