Cassidy is part of a truly talented (and famous) family — his mom is Academy Award–winning actress Shirley Jones, his dad is Tony Award–winning actor and director Jack Cassidy and his half-brother is fellow former teen idol David Cassidy.
Shaun Cassidy, now 67, was one of the biggest stars of the ’70s. Over the years, he’s found success in several different realms of the entertainment world. He was on the hit TV show “The Hardy Boys Mysteries” and starred in the hit Broadway musical “Blood Brothers.”
He also had huge success on the pop music charts. And that was true basically right out of the gate, as he’d sign a record deal while still in high school, with his self-titled debut album from 1977 selling millions of copies and producing a No. 1 single (“Da Doo Ron Ron”). The release helped Cassidy score a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
