BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An evacuation warning has been issued for an area north of Bakersfield due to a fire Wednesday evening.
The Kern County Fire Department said a vegetation fire has broke out in the 24000 block of Round Mountain Road in Bakersfield.
GenasysProtect said an evacuation warning has been issued for KRN-600, an area north of Hart Park, at around 5:16 p.m.
It said it was due to the so-called “South Fire.” The warning said, “ You should prepare to leave. If you need additional time to evacuate, you should leave now.”
The fire can be seen on ALERTCalifornia cameras. According to CalFire, the fire has burned 60 acres, however KCFD said it has burned 70 acres.
