BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Uricchio’s Trattoria, one of the fine-dining stalwarts of downtown Bakersfield, is taking a summer vacation.
The Italian restaurant at 17th and K streets in the historic Haberfelde building, will take the rest of the summer months off, according to owner Claire Porter.

The restaurant hit a noteworthy milestone in 2025 — 30 years, a lifetime in the notoriously harsh world of restaurant startups.
Porter is the daughter of the late Nick Uricchio, who founded the restaurant in 1995 after sharpening his fine-dining skills at the famous Friar’s Club in Los Angeles.
No word on exactly when Uricchio’s will return from its summer break.
