The Creelman Fire in Ramona, California, began on Wednesday, July 22, and burned 315 acres as of 9:05 pm, prompting a vast emergency response and evacuations for nearby homes.
Video filmed by Erin Hoye shows an aerial tanker flying through smog and smoke near her home.
Firefighters tackled the blaze both on ground and from the air, which Cal Fire said would continue overnight and the coming days.
