California Highway Closed as Crews Fight Wildfire

Parts of Highway 395 were closed near Bishop, California, as crews tended to a vegetation fire on July 22.

Footage uploaded to Facebook by the Big Pine Volunteer Fire Department shows a helicopter dropping water along the roadway.

Officials closed Highway 395 in both directions while ground crews assisted in suppression efforts, and said the fire had “potential for 15 acres.”
