Like European nations at this summer’s World Cup, Oakland County was well represented in the late stages of this year’s girls soccer playoffs.
That was reflected in this year’s MIHSSCA Dream Team, which included four area players recognized, matching the most since 2022-23.
The four standouts were Bloomfield Hills Marian midfielder Nia Bordogna, Detroit Country Day defender Jenna Shaban, Rochester Adams goalkeeper Lexi Calcamuggio and Troy forward Olivia Jasniewicz. Additionally, all but Calcamuggio were first-team All-State selections last season, and Bordogna was one of just three non-seniors to be picked to this year’s Dream Team.
Jasniewicz, committed to Wayne State, tallied 13 goals and a team-high 11 assists for the Colts, who won 17 matches overall and reached the Division 1 final.
Bordogna scored 10 goals, but also fed high-scoring teammates like Leah Nalichowski and Emma Wyciskalla for 21 assists, helping take the Mustangs, who finished with 21 wins, to the D2 final. She’s already committed to play at the D1 level with Robert Morris.

The Adams netminder, set to continue her career at Davenport, allowed her team to keep a dozen clean sheets throughout the year and win a pair of overtime playoff matches. Calcamuggio and the Highlanders remained undefeated until their loss in regional finals to Troy.
Shaban and Country Day’s defense allowed just one shot in the final and prevailed 1-0 to win the D3 championship and seventh title overall in the program’s rich history. With her among the back line, the Yellowjackets conceded just once throughout the entire postseason and allowed only a handful of goals over their last 15 matches.
Altogether, 17 players from Oakland County were first-team selections throughout the four divisions of the All-State squads, matching last year’s total from the area.
