It’s going to be hot yet again this weekend, but if you’re willing to brave the heat, there’s a lot of fun to be had in Southern California.
Yes, the World Cup is over, but you can still get your soccer fix in LA. And if you’re into music, this weekend has some truly great options on tap.

The long-running festival for alternative, punk, rock and other genres of music is back in Long Beach this weekend.
Performers include Gym Class Heroes, Papa Roach, Taking Back Sunday, Third Eye Blind, Reel Big Fish and many, many more.
Tickets are available for one or both days.

A pair of free shows in downtown Los Angeles highlight this weekend’s offerings.

Saturday is headlined by Keri Hilson and features Paul Wall, Mike Jones and Slim Thug, while Sunday is headlined by Too $hort and features Xzibit and Layzie Bone, among others.
Both shows are free with an RSVP, though organizers suggest getting there early to ensure you get a spot.
Alternatively, you can buy VIP tickets for $20 that put you close to the stage and ensure your entry.

Come out to the Getty Center to see another free concert, this one featuring the band Horse Lords.
Tickets are free, but you’ll need to get them on the Getty website for entry.
Soccer
Date: Saturday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 26, at 6 p.m.

The World Cup is over but soccer is still kicking in Los Angeles.
The men’s squad LAFC plays Saturday night against Kansas City, while the women’s team Angel City FC hosts Racing Louisville FC on Sunday.
The Angel City game is also Pride Night, with fan fest starting at 2 p.m..
Giveaways include Pride socks for those with the special ticket pack, and the first 15,000 fans with any ticket will get a Pride bandana.
