SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — With just over 14 weeks away from the Midterm elections, the Republican Candidate for Governor of California, Steve Hilton, is pressing his message of change in the Golden State.
“My plan is very straightforward. $3 gas, cut utility bills in half, your first $150,000 tax-free, starter homes for young families, so our kids and grandkids don’t have to move to another state to have what we used to think of as the California dream,” said Hilton.
Hilton is visiting FOX 5/KUSI using his campaign to frame the democratic party as a machine. The Hilton Campaign is using a New AI Commercial featuring fake videos of Governor Newsom, Kamala Harris, and Xavier Becerra.
“Xavier Beccera, my opponent, another puppet of the machine, and it’s controlled by unions and lobbyists, and you can see here it’s picking him as the candidate,” said Hilton.
Hilton says California is a duality of being the wealthiest State in the Wealthiest Country, but Californians still struggle.
“The Highest cost of living by far. So, things aren’t going well. It’s a big economy, and it’s a big state, but it’s not working for the people who live here,” said Hilton.
As an immigrant himself, Hilton says California needs to help ICE officials clarify legal and illegal immigration.
“The reason we have the kind of scenes that nobody wants to see, whether that’s the ICE riots we’ve seen in Los Angeles or the deaths we’ve seen in other states, that is entirely caused by the sanctuary policies that force this confrontation and antagonistic attitude instead of calm and reasonable cooperation, and that’s what you’ll get from me,” said Hilton.
Xavier Beccera is currently leading in the polls by double digits.
