The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Ramona American Graffiti Cruise Night to host a National Night Out event in Ramona as vehicles of all types cruise down Main Street.
National Night Out will be held in conjunction with Cruise Night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 30 in the Albertson’s grocery store parking lot, 1459 Main St.
The law enforcement appreciation evening is an annual community event that strengthens bonds between law enforcement and the community in addition to community partners, officials said.
The event is an opportunity for community members to meet sheriff’s deputies and other law enforcement officials and to connect with community resources, said Ramona Sheriff’s Crime Prevention Specialist Lesley Roberts.
Representatives of the California Highway Patrol, CalFire, the sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail and Mounted Patrol will be available during the evening of community connection, she said.

“It’s a great opportunity to learn more about local public safety and celebrate the people who serve our community,” Roberts said. “National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.”
Attendees can explore classic sheriff’s vehicles, modern patrol cars and fire trucks. A car show, raffles and photo booth are other attractions.
“We’ll also be handing out fun giveaways for children,” Roberts said. “Members of the public are invited to meet uniformed personnel, ask questions and take photos with our vehicles and horses.”
Millions of neighbors participate in National Night Out from all 50 states and U.S. territories in addition to military bases worldwide. The event is typically held on the first Tuesday in August, but local communities can change the date.
