San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner has been cleared to practice after a significant 2025 injury.Warner and teammate Nick Bosa have both returned to practice for the 49ers’ preseason camp.The 49ers face a competitive NFC West, with the Seattle Seahawks as reigning Super Bowl champions and the Los Angeles Rams favored to win the next one.General manager John Lynch stated Warner is “full throttle” and fully healthy for the 2026 season.

BYU football star Fred Warner has spent the past several months rehabbing from a brutal 2025 injury. He and the San Francisco 49ers are all smiles after Warner and teammate Nick Bosa were both cleared to be able to practice at preseason camp.

Warner, according to 49ers reporter and analyst David Lombardi, told Kyle Shanahan “We got this, coach. Trust us,” as a statement of intent upon returning to the practice field for a new season in which NFC West rivals Seattle and Los Angeles are expected to provide rigorous competition for San Francisco. The Seahawks are reigning Super Bowl LX champions, while the Rams are the team favored by most to win Super Bowl LXI next February in their home building, SoFi Stadium.

Fred Warner reflected on his injury ordeal to The Athletic, saying “I always believed strongly that everything happens for a reason. And it would be wrong to abandon that in the toughest times.”

49ers general manager John Lynch said Warner is “full throttle,” a declaration of fully restored health, as the Niners try to take down the champion Seahawks and the favored Rams in the 2026 NFL season, which begins in the second week of September due to Labor Day being on the latest possible Monday, September 7. The 49ers made Super Bowl LVIII in the 2023 NFL season and have not been back to the big game since then.

The Seahawks won the NFC last season. The Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC championship in the 2024 NFL campaign. The Niners are still looking for their first Super Bowl title under Kyle Shanahan. They still have five Super Bowls, having failed to win the Lombardi Trophy since Super Bowl XXIX in the 1994 NFL season.
