A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a homicide investigation after a woman died at an apartment in Santa Monica on Saturday, police said.

Police received a call about a woman needing medical attention in the 1900 block of Pico Boulevard just before 5:30 p.m., according to the Santa Monica Police Department. When officers arrived, they found a woman with what they described as “significant injuries.”

She died at the scene, police said. Her identity has not yet been released.

Police said they were not looking for more suspects, though the investigation is ongoing. Officials did not provide details about the suspect in custody.
