Monday marks the fifth day of a preliminary hearing after a week of testimony in the murder case against the singer known as D4vd.
New evidence, graphic photos and forensics were shown by prosecutors to try and convince a judge there’s enough evidence to bring this case to a jury trial.
On Monday, it is expected that the detective with the Los Angeles Police Department who took the stand on Friday will continue his testimony.
It is possible that the preliminary hearing could wrap up on Monday.
On Friday, the LAPD detective took the stand and spoke about what was found on D4vd’s phone.
He described text messages between the singer and the teen, Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Some were explicit while others dealt with abortion, marriage plans, Celeste running away from home and ultimately the end of what D4vd allegedly saw as a romantic relationship.
The detective also described sexually explicit images found on D4vd’s phone that show him with Celeste when he was 18 and 19 years old and she was 13.
This is evidence that prosecutors believe prove the singer was abusing Celeste.
The medical examiner also testified Friday and showed photos of the autopsy on the young teen girl.
The medical examiner explained that Celeste was the victim of a homicide likely caused by “sharp force injuries” to her chest and abdomen.
Monday’s hearing starts at 9:15 a.m.
