Long Beach residents can share priorities, perspectives for LA28 Games in community survey – Press Telegram

Long Beach residents, businesses and stakeholders can share their priorities, perspectives and aspirations for the city’s planning and preparations for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games by completing a community survey.

The online survey is open now through Sept. 30. It will help inform and shape a successful and inclusive experience for Long Beach during the Olympics, officials said.

“As we prepare to welcome the world in 2028, we are focused on building a 2028 Games experience shaped by our community,” Mayor Rex Richardson said in a statement. “This survey is an important opportunity for people to share their input so that our planning reflects the values and needs of the people who call this city home. By elevating community voices, we can create a more inclusive, impactful legacy for Long Beach.”

Long Beach is one of the venue cities for the 2028 Summer Games. The city will stage 11 Olympic events and seven Paralympic events, according to a press release. The Olympic and Paralympic Games will take place from July 14 to Aug. 27, 2028.

The survey is available at lbcity.info/lb28gamessurvey in English, Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. City staffers will also conduct survey outreach at a variety of local events taking place over the summer.

Community responses will be shared with the mayor and City Council, and will help identify community priorities and concerns, officials said, as well as inform planning and engagement strategies. The feedback will also be shared with external partners.

This effort is part of Long Beach’s broader commitment to ensure the benefits and impacts of the Games are shaped by the community, the press release said. Long Beach is also partnering with trusted community messengers, such as schools, nonprofits, community-based organizations and advisory committees, to expand outreach and encourage participation across their networks.
