A man’s body was recovered in an off-shoot of the Sacramento River near Walnut Grove on Thursday, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s office said.The sheriff’s office said it received a call at 10:45 a.m. about a body floating in the river near Steamboat Slough, about a half a mile from the Sacramento River. The Walnut Grove Fire Protection District, Coast Guard and Sacramento County sheriff’s marine units responded. Details on the person’s identity were not immediately known.
