Man’s body recovered near Steamboat Slough, Sacramento sheriff says

A man’s body was recovered in an off-shoot of the Sacramento River near Walnut Grove on Thursday, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s office said.The sheriff’s office said it received a call at 10:45 a.m. about a body floating in the river near Steamboat Slough, about a half a mile from the Sacramento River. The Walnut Grove Fire Protection District, Coast Guard and Sacramento County sheriff’s marine units responded. Details on the person’s identity were not immediately known. Foul play is not suspected, the sheriff’s office said.
