Charli xcx is squeezing in another San Francisco appearance before taking the stage at Outside Lands.
The pop star will participate in a fan Q&A at Amoeba Music’s Haight Street store at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 – the opening day of the three-day festival in Golden Gate Park.
More Information
3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7. Amoeba Music, 1855 Haight St., San Francisco. A wristband is required. Wristbands are available while supplies last with an in-person preorder of “Music, Fashion, Film” on Yorkshire Smoke vinyl beginning Tuesday, July 28. One per person. www.amoeba.com
Admission requires a wristband obtained by preordering a copy of Charli’s new album, “Music, Fashion, Film,” on an indie-exclusive Yorkshire Smoke vinyl pressing. Preorders must be placed in person at Amoeba San Francisco beginning Tuesday, July 28.
Space is limited, and the store is allowing one album and wristband per person.
Amoeba said it cannot accommodate online purchases, phone orders or holds for the event. Fans who previously bought the album on vinyl at the San Francisco store may be able to claim one of a limited number of wristbands set aside for earlier customers, but they must bring their original register receipt.
The appearance is a Q&A only, not a performance or signing. Instructions for submitting a question will be provided when fans receive their wristbands, according to Amoeba.
Customers will pick up their vinyl copies on the day of the event.
“Music, Fashion, Film,” Charli’s follow-up to the pop-culture phenomenon “Brat,” was released Friday, July 24. The 11-song album shifts toward distorted guitars and rock-influenced production while retaining the pop star’s longtime collaborators A.G. Cook and Finn Keane.
Charli also released three companion B-sides on iTunes over the weekend: “I Keep on Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night,” “Playboy Bunny” and “If You Take Away the Music Then What Has She Got?”
The Amoeba event comes before Charli’s first Outside Lands headlining appearance. She is one of the three top-billed performers at the Aug. 7-9 festival, alongside the Strokes and Rüfüs Du Sol.
Organizers had not yet published Charli’s exact performance time. Fans planning to attend both events should check the final Outside Lands schedule and allow time to travel from Amoeba’s store at 1855 Haight St. to the festival grounds in western Golden Gate Park.
