(FOX40.COM) — The City of Sacramento is activating weather-respite operations at its Outreach and Engagement Center as the forecast predicts multiple days of rain.

The OEC, located on 3615 Auburn Boulevard, opened at 3 p.m. on Monday and is scheduled to remain open through 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

City officials said that the OEC accepts walk-ups and is able to accommodate up to 50 guests, accepts pets and has storage available for personal belongings during the weather-respite activation.

Meanwhile, the County of Sacramento activated its North A facility till Wednesday to provide additional weather respite options. Libraries and community centers are also available during their normal hours of operation as weather-respite locations, city officials said.

No-cost transportation to and from weather respite centers during Sacramento Regional Transit operation hours will be provided through their partnership with the city, according to officials.

The SacRT flyer can be screenshotted or printed and provided to the bus operator upon boarding, or shown to light rail fare inspection staff upon request.

The flyer is only valid to and from activated weather respite centers, officials said.

Those in need of assistance accessing weather respite are asked to call 211 or visit their website for more information on respite centers.
