The County of San Diego is urging CalFresh recipients to check their BenefitsCal accounts for their renewal date, watch their mail for a renewal packet, and return it as early as possible to avoid interruptions in benefits.
Over the last year, about one-third of CalFresh beneficiaries either missed their renewal deadline or submitted incomplete paperwork.
How to Stay on Track
Check the renewal date in their BenefitsCal account online
Here’s a video that shows you how.
Update your contact information online, by phone or in person so you don’t miss important notices.
When your renewal packet arrives in the mail, complete it and return it early—online, in the mail or in person.
Early submission helps prevent gaps in benefits and gives County staff time to follow up if additional information is needed.
