Human Remains Found in Wooded Area Near Oakland County Courthouse
(OCSO, July 28, 2026)
Oakland County, MI – At approximately 10:07 this morning, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of what are believed to be human remains in a wooded area south of the Oakland County Circuit Court Building in Pontiac.
The remains appear to be in an advanced state of decomposition. Investigators are processing the scene and working to identify the deceased.
A patient identification bracelet was recovered, and detectives are attempting to determine the originating medical facility
At this time, investigators can only confirm the deceased appears to be an adult male.
The circumstances remain under investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
