San Diego County restaurants are being shut down by health inspectors at a much higher rate.
The Times of San Diego reports 524 restaurants were temporarily closed in 2025, nearly double the number from four years earlier, with vermin infestations accounting for more than 84-percent of the closures.
Health inspectors say restaurants are shut down for major violations such as rodents, insects, sewage issues and other sanitation hazards.
