Port of Oakland and TraPac have commissioned two new electric ship-to-shore cranes, strengthening port electrification, cargo handling capacity and sustainable port operations.
The first two of four Liebherr electric cranes entered service at TraPac’s Oakland terminal following commissioning on 7 July. Manufactured in Ireland and assembled on-site, the cranes are the first European-built ship-to-shore cranes delivered to a US West Coast port.
