BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — As summer heat continues, The Mission at Kern County has opened its cooling center to the public daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering a place to cool down regardless of the temperature.
The Mission announced the opening on Thursday, July 30. The cooling center is located at 816 East 21st Street.
Officials said the Mission needs bottled water, hygiene products, hats, and socks this summer.
