BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 44-year-old man, wanted for allegedly stabbing his estranged girlfriend in 2008 in Arvin, was arrested in Sacramento and extradited to Kern County to face an attempted murder charge.
Arvin police said on November 22, 2008, around 7:19 p.m., a passerby brought a woman to the police station after finding her bleeding in the area of Sycamore Road and North Rancho Drive.
The victim was found to be suffering from multiple stab wounds to her neck and chest. She was then taken to the hospital.
Police said a suspect was identified during the investigation as Victor Manuel Ochoa Orozco, and an arrest warrant was obtained.
With the help of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office and Sacramento Police Department, the 44-year-old Ochoa Orozco was arrested in Sacramento on July 28, 2026.

Arvin police said Ochoa Orozco was the victim’s estranged boyfriend, with whom they had two children in common.
Ochoa Orozco was extradited to Kem County on July 30, 2026, and was booked into the Kem County Jail for attempted murder with a $1 million bail.
The Arvin Police Department said they thank their partners at the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office and the Sacramento Police Department for their help in the apprehension of Ochoa Orozco.
