This summer heat has driven many residents out to the coast. Those headed west next weekend can also enjoy a special offer.
Sensorio, the immersive art installation in Paso Robles, has partnered again to aid a nonprofit in Kern County.
On Aug. 9, visitors to the colorful outdoor art exhibition, which draws thousands to the Central Coast to view its unique beauty, will aid the Bakersfield Museum of Art.
For every ticket sold that Sunday, a portion will be donated to the local arts institution. Attendees will also be able to save $10 on their tickets using a special promo code.
Past Sensorio Gives Back fundraisers have aided other Kern organizations including the Arts Council of Kern, Bakersfield High School PTSO Boosters, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Kern County and Bakersfield Homeless Center.
To date, Sensorio Gives Back has contributed more than $528,000 in support of nonprofit partners and community organizations.
Sensorio offers a “radiant wonderland of sensory colors and lights” with installations by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro and HYBYCOZO, the collaborative studio of artists Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk.
Munro designed Fireflies, Gone Fishing, Light Towers, Field of Light and FOSO: Fiber Optic Symphonic Orchestra, featuring 32 state-of-the-art columns of light set in a rotary structure and synchronized to a musical score.
HYBYCOZO created the large-scale metal sculptures of Dimensions.
The installation also features Woven Glow, its first original, in-house light sculpture, inspired by “the art of weaving and the natural contours of Paso Robles.
Tickets to Sensorio must be purchased in advance to guarantee admission at a set time. Admission is $71.39 (includes fees), $35.19 for children 12 and under. Children under 2 are admitted free.
VIP tickets — which include priority entry for faster access, reserved terrace seating with sunset views, access to VIP terrace Airstream bar (for those 21 and older), private restrooms, fireside tables and heaters, and a drink of your choice — are $117.42 for adults and $92.08 for children.
Premium VIP terrace tables are available with seating for two ($312.25), three ($429) or four ($561.12).
