13 restaurants and 291 food and beverage items have faced substantial price increases

The Disneyland Resort has just increased food and beverage prices, primarily affecting 13 table service restaurants, lounges and bars across the Anaheim property. 

This announcement comes just weeks after the park raised prices on other food items throughout the park, such as soda, popcorn and churros, in accordance with former trends in which Disney prices begin to rise during the summer months in preparation for larger increases in tickets, Park Hopper add-ons, Magic Key passes and parking in the fall. 

This price increase affected 291 menu items, with the typical item increasing by $1, or an average rate of 6.5%. The average price increase for entrées rests at about $2-$3. 

Among the affected items are alcoholic beverages, with the median price increasing from $20 to $21. Some cocktails have soared to even higher prices, with three cocktails at Carthay Circle Lounge and Restaurant reaching a staggering $24. 

While not everyone seeks a sit-down meal during their Disney day, many do, and visitors should be aware of the increased prices at their favorite restaurants. The River Belle Terrace, located in Adventureland, had the highest price increase at 9.5%. Café Orleans follows this figure at 9.2% and the Blue Bayou Restaurant at 9.0% on the list of Disneyland theme park’s affected restaurants. 

At Disney California Adventure, Magic Key Terrace and Carathtay Circle Lounge and Restaurant saw the highest average increases at 7.3%, followed by the Lamplight Lounge and Boardwalk Dining at 6.6% and the Wine Country Trattoria at 5.3%.

The GCH Craftsman Bar in the Disney Resort hotels faced the largest number of repriced items, with 57 changes. Despite this, the price increase averaged 5.1%, which is among the lowest rates of all the affected locations. 

The ban also affected nonalcoholic drink options. At Blue Bayou, Café Orleans, River Belle Terrace and Carthay Circle, coffee, tea and hot cocoa prices have risen from $4.75 to $5.50. There was also an uptick in the price of 42 dessert items, including cake pops, cupcakes, cereal treats, caramel apples, cookies and candy. 

A Disneyland spokesperson told Mickey Visit that no changes were made to any kids’ meals beyond the character dining experiences. The popular Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures at Napa Rose increased from $149 to $152 per guest. 

For those who like to enjoy a sit-down meal during a day at the happiest place on earth, you may want to reconsider your options. Guests looking to avoid these rising costs can bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages into the park.
