BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A woman suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle while police say she was crossing the street outside a crosswalk early Friday morning.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Friday, July 31, 2026, at around 4:42 a.m., officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Union Avenue and 4th Street.
Police said a pedestrian, identified as a female, was crossing outside of the crosswalk mid-block when the vehicle struck her.
The pedestrian’s injuries were moderate.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with officers.
Police said neither speed nor intoxication are factors in the crash.
