With hot weather in the forecast, the City of Sacramento is reminding residents to take precautions and take advantage of free and low-cost places to stay cool, including pools, spray parks, community centers and libraries.

“Extreme heat can become dangerous very quickly, especially for children, older adults and people working or spending time outdoors,” said Sacramento Fire Department Deputy Chief Mike Taylor. “Plan ahead, stay hydrated, check on family and neighbors, and use the City’s cooling resources when you need a break from the heat. If you’re heading to the water, wear a life jacket and never leave children unattended.”
