ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) – The Oakland Avenue underpass will close to all traffic beginning Tuesday, Aug. 4, and remain closed through October.
Crews will excavate the entire underpass to separate stormwater and sanitary sewers as part of a federally mandated project.
The project is designed to reduce sewage overflows and protect local rivers.
Drivers are urged to use the Nappanee Street and Benham Avenue underpasses or the Prairie Street overpass during the closure.
