The San Diego Strike Force will host the first Indoor Football League playoff game in franchise history on Sunday, when they welcome the Tucson Sugar Skulls to Oceanside’s Frontwave Arena.

Kickoff is 6 p.m. between the Strike Force, who at 13-3 are the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs. They’re 7-1 this season at Frontwave and 3-0 against Tucson, including a 40-36 win over the Sugar Skulls in Oceanside last week.

“It’s going to be a great atmosphere,” San Diego quarterback Nate Davis told GoIFL.com. “We want to do it for our fans.”

A 39-year-old who played for former SDSU coach Brady Hoke when both were at Ball State, Davis has thrown for 2,742 yards and 55 touchdowns this season. He sat out last weekend in an ultimately meaningless regular-season game. San Diego still outgained Tucson 255 yards to 193, though 166 of San Diego’s yards came on the ground.

Tucson (7-9) is the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Sunday’s playoff game will stream on the Yahoo Sports Network, with channels available on Prime Video, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and on at YahooSports.com.
