OAKLAND — An 18-year-old man is facing felony charges in connection with the beating and robbery of a 15-year-old boy at an Oakland apartment complex in late June, prosecutors said.

On Friday, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office announced it had charged Jaeden Roach with assault with a firearm, robbery and felony child endangerment.

The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on June 25 in the 3400 block of 68th Avenue, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said Roach and four other suspects hid behind an apartment complex and waited for the victim, who was attacked and beaten with handguns when he arrived.

The victim suffered serious injuries, prosecutors said.

Roach is scheduled to enter a plea Monday at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
