What should have been a celebration turned into a nightmare for a family who attended last week’s Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach.
David Granado Jr., a native of San Jose, attended the event with his girlfriend, brother and friends on July 26, according to a verified GoFundMe. It was on that day when David suffered a “traumatic and ultimately fatal” brain injury, the fundraiser states.
The exact cause has not been determined; the GoFundMe indicates Granado’s family is still trying to “piece together the timeline of what exactly happened to Dave” in the hours before he was hospitalized.

Loved ones have started the GoFundMe to help with “unexpected logistics and cost of medical bills and final arrangements.”

“With emergency surgery and multiple days of life support, the family is not sure what the final cost will be. We hope we can at least partially help relieve some of the financial burden as they deal with this devastating situation,” the fundraiser concludes.
The Warped Tour is a touring rock music festival that is hosted in cities around the U.S. and Canada and is sponsored by the skate fashion company Vans.
This year’s Long Beach edition included acts such as Gym Class Heroes, Plain White T’s and Third Eye Blind, among many others.
